Anyways onto the important stuff. I got my order today from cakes and cookies craft shop .
This was;
1. a button mould
2. 300g of white choc drops
3. black sugarcraft dye
4. black glitter
5. black and gold cupcake cases
I can't tell you how excited I was. I did run around the garden a little bit. And I did a small amount of jumping up and down. And I may have wee'd a bit...
I did a small test run with a hand full of chocolate drops, which turned out to be far too much. I added the black choc dye a bit at a time until the required colour was achieved, then filled the mould and popped it into the freezer. Yes I couldn't wait for the fridge.
This was the result (sorry for the really crap photo, but James knew it was chocolate and I was trying to bat him away whilst photographing the little shiny pretty things).
They did actually look like buttons! Obviously this was my first time (snigger) so it wasn't perfect, but it was pretty good. AND, the chocolate tasted exactly the same pre and post dye application. Pretty funky!
I made some buns today and I will test the dye with butter cream tomorrow and post again.
